What we believe

There’s a certain something about WISE.  We’re not like other organisations. We don’t seek fame or fortune; we’re not after headlines or awards.  But we intently care. We care about the community, and ordinary people facing the daily challenge of living with a mental illness.

That’s why you won’t find a mission statement here. Instead our purpose is about dreams, challenges and spirit.

Inspirational dream

Creating fresh possibilities and services for people, organisations and communities

For us our dream is why we do the things we do. It’s our vision, our destiny, that great big reason for belonging. From the dream we derive a shared sense of working together for the benefit of others, for the greater good.  We want to go further than delivering services. Our dream is about hope and belonging, about imagining and dreaming.  Our dream is our blue skies.

Focus

Inspire. Develop. Deliver.

Our focus is about energy and action.  It’s the things we harness to achieve our challenge and make our dream a reality.  Our focus is simple and right at the core of our business model - inspire, develop, deliver.  We inspire by looking for new ideas and fresh possibilities.  We develop those ideas and give them wings. And then, by leading and implementing, we deliver. Our focus is our stepping stone.

Spirit

We are one, everything is possible

This is the very heart of our organisation. It’s who we are. It’s what we bring to work every day and it’s the thing that creates electric spark and feeling.  It’s about realising the amazing and limitless possibilities that abound when we come together as family – as one.

We define our purpose like this because Mike Pratt, a member of WISE Trust, co-wrote a book called ‘Peak Performance’ with colleagues including Kevin Roberts, Worldwide CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi. The book shows how peak performing organisations run their businesses.

Peak performers are driven. They dream of new oceans, then they find them, then they aim further. We practise peak performance at WISE.
